At IFFR 2026, the Harbour programme presents
Songs of Hope and Despair. Performed by Bundschuh, Fish, Fox Tail, Rainbow, Dead Drummer, Muse-Leaving Germany and by other agencies, a new film by the collective Chto Delat.
The film’s musical structure and sound are shaped by Maria Markina, whose compositions and performances play a key role in how the film unfolds.
Set in the former mining town of Hettstedt, the film combines musical performance, staged actions and collective movement, reflecting on political fatigue, ecological anxiety and the search for shared language.
